JOBKEEPER PAYMENT PROGRAM

For many Noosa Junction small businesses the Commonwealth JobKeeper Government wage subsidy is welcome, but a major challenge is coming up with the cash to pay wages until May when the federal funding arrives. Advice from the Banking Association and Anna Bligh made yesterday indicates Australia’s banks are are supporting the JobKeeper program. To bridge the gap Businesses may be able to use the upcoming JobKeeper program payment as a basis to seek credit in order to pay their employees until the first payment is made. https://www.ausbanking.org.au/…/097X1003.pdfnks-ready-to-s…/. NJA CALLS ON LANDLORDS TO
DO THE RIGHT THINGS

NOOSA JUNCTION ASSOCIATION  calls for Landlords to provide immediate rent assistance to Noosa Junction tenants before it’s too late.  NJA President, Michael Tozer, said for the past week, the NJA Committee has been reaching out to Land Owners asking them to please assist their tenants in any way possible.

“To ensure small business survives these unpreceded times, Landlords and tenants need to work together for mutual benefit. Like banks passing on concessions, Landlords also should provide immediate support,” Mr Tozer said.

“Our small businesses are showing great community spirit and creativity – doing their best to adapt to constantly changing regulations to keep their doors open and local people employed.

“We have seen exceptional community spirit in Noosa Junction, which is a largely small and local business population. But it’s tough and there is no underestimating how difficult it will be in the short-term to medium term.

“We call on all Junction Landlords, many who have owned their premises for many years, to provide rent reduction or freezes if they are able to do so.

“We all need to step up and do the right thing,” Mr Tozer concluded.
